Dual Batt wiring - have isolator need help

So I purchased the isolator from the automotive shop. Looks like the ford relay allready on my fenderwall however this is the 100% duty isolator. There are 4 posts, two big-uns for the positive connections on both batterys. Two 16ga, posts, one is labled ground, (simple enough) and one is labled "accessory post on ignition switch".

I dont understand what that means, "accessory post on ignition switch."

Someones done this before im sure, probably with the same isolator. Some diagrams I have looked at point to the starter, others just say fuse box.
Help!

Sheeeeeeeit... Doesnt help directly but shone a light for me. Guess what I really need to know is where do I connect (what fuse to tap) for the ignition "on" post on the isolator.

I have no book for the truck, I know, tsk, tsk.

Maybe if I knew what truck you have I could tell you where to connect it.

If your truck is the 1990 that is in your information then it would be the Black wire with a light green stripe that is going to fuse #6, 11, 14 & 17 in the below diagram. You could use the output of one of those fuses also.

Thanks a gagillion! I always forget that people cannot read my mind especially on the interwebs... Vehicle type plays an important role both here and on the jeep forums i belong too. I appreciate the quick diagram post and help Subford.

Relad the Thread again and you should have an image of the fuse panel.

After reading the FusePanel diagram it says under PowerDistribution that fuse 16 is powered all the time. I dont know if I am supposed to use that fuse because I think I am looking for a power source that is live after the ignition switch is in the on position. Does that make sence? I assume the ignition accessory terminal on the battery isolator is to control it.

I did not say anything about using fuse #16.

Yes you are looking for a power source that only has power in the ON or ACC position. The ignition accessory terminal on the battery isolator is to control the unit off and on. On will let you charge both batteries and off keeps you from draining the engine battery.

After reading back a few posts I guess I made up that fuse 16 statement.
Looks like I have a few options for ignitions "on" power sources.

Subford, thanks for your patience and image scanning (i think).

That is just a Stater Solenoid and not a battery isolator.

With the key on it just connects both batteries in parallel.
It would be wired like this:

Hmmm. Agreed. However with the key off, only power will be drawn off of the aux battery and not the starting battery. My goal is to wire lights, winch, fans, inverter, off of the aux. batt. Am I going about this the wrong way? Shucks.

Yes and no.
They used it that way for a long time before they came out with the battery isolator.
They only came up with the battery isolator after they invented the high powered rectifier.
