Things were ok until IT broke

The new MBRP exhaust came in today. Cut the old one out, sprayed the down pipe clamp a couple of times. Bolt was hard to get loose, got it part way and then SNAP. Broke the bolt in two. Where can I get one locally? Would the dealer have one, or can I use a regular grade 8 bolt?
Also I tried to get the new down pipe to line up and am having a real hard time getting it just right. Have any of you had to crush or beat a couple of small dents in the pipe to get it into position?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Dealer ought to have one and if the new downpipe won't fit in properly something isn't right there should be no crushing or bending required.

It's a bit frustrating getting the up-pipe on by yourself. You shouldn't have to ding it to get it in there.

Well, let me start by saying having friends who will drop anything to help a buddy out is priceless. Took my broken bolt into work today and the welder had a new stainless home made T bolt fab'd up by 9:00 am. Then another guy blew off a side job to help me put the system in. Unbelievable how easy it all went in with 2 sets of hands. Less than an hour and a half and I was listening to the sweet sounds of that 4" system. Now I gotta decide what kind of tip I want.
Thanks for the help and words of encouragement this site gives.

Nice to hear that the buddy system is alive and well. Glad you got it in. After a few miles, recheck all your connections to make sure that things didn't settle and start to rattle on the crossmembers, axle tube, etc.

Yep gonna drive it a bit and then check clearances, rattles, and fit. Then I'll take it down to our union hall and tack weld every thing to make sure nothing moves.

Pay particular attention of the pipe where it goes by the trans cross member, mine rattled there even after putting a ballpien ding there.

Good to hear it got together. Always nice to have friends over even if just to car talk a bit. Enjoy that exhaust, I love my 4" Magnaflow too.
