Anything to be worried about. Should I worry about rusting? Or would it be Ok since it will be wet from fuel all the time?

Would prefer stainless but it's hard to find it locally.

When I installed an ITP Diesel Fuel Tank/Pre-Pump Kit, I discovered that the little umbrella was completely broken off and the pickup tube crumbled when I started handling it. I replaced the whole mess with a piece of 3/8" brake line from NAPA. No problems so far.

OK. Sounds good.

The pickup is supposed to be 5/16 and the return is 3/8, correct?

Just the opposite. I have the mild steel line, as well. No problems in over 6 yrs.

I just realized I jacked up my fractions on that one... Too much work, not enough play I guess.

The pickup line from the tank is 3/8" where it hooks to the plastic "hose" with the quick disconnect. The "hose" and all the line up to the pump is 5/16". The return is all 5/16'.

I think Ford made the tank connections different sizes on purpose to make them "idiot proof."

About four inches of 3/8 and twelve to sixteen inches of 5/16.
A 3/8 and a 5/16 compression fittings to assemble it.
