I have a D1VE block from a 460. Are these any good/desireable and whats a reasonable cost for one?

D1VE block any good?

I have one of those in the back of my truck right now. If I decoded it right, it's out of a 1971 lincoln. A friend of mine told me that lincoln 460's where different from ford 460's. but he didn't know what those differences where. I also don't know if the original heads for it have hard enough seats to be used with unleaded gas. If anyone has any better info I would like to hear it. As it is I was thinking about using it as scrap iron.

D1VE blocks are common. But you shouldn't pay more then $100 for a bare casting unless it has been machined and not to the limit either. As far as I can tell a block is a block. There may be a few casting inprovements for all I know but I can't see any. Just remember that a machined block will cost you a little more but you don't have to pay to have it redone. Just FYI.
