ok i took them off and then put on the terminal and it still turned over.. so i traced the 2 wires.. the one little wire on the left of the relay ended up being a ground to the starter solenoid. the big one was the main power to the solenoid.. the solenoid had continuity between those 2 plugs on it.. could my solenoid possibly upside down so the wires ended up being crossed???
The big wire at the starter is always hot, the small wire is only hot while in crank position. Dis-connect the small wire at the starter and re-connect the batt. If it still turns over your problem is at the starter.
ok ill give that a shot. if it doesn't turn over then whats the problem
You have power going to the small wire at all times and that's a no-no! You'll have to trace the wire back and find out why. It should only be hot with key in the crank position.
The only other poss. would be you have the big batt. wire going to the wrong terminal on the soleniod at the starter, I'll assume you're smarter than that.
sounds like basecamp said... just make sure the wire coming up from the starter (usually thicker and black) is hooked to the opposite post compared to the main power (thick and red, directly to battery).... if that doesnt help u might want to just replace ur starter celanoid.... the exact same problem happened to me recently and i ended up just having bought a bad celanoid....
