Here is mine I took a year and a half ago before I started restoring it, I also used it to haul all the landscaping around our house and flower gardens. The Twin cylinder Schwartz Truck Hoist really help unload all the rock on multiple spots.

Thumbs up

The Y block is great motor, from all that i have read. Bullet proof. A number of my friends have them in their trucks, and cars.

I found this beast in the 4 corners area of NM, probably an old oil patch truck;

its sitting on the side of the road with "For Sale" spray painted on the back of it.

Looks like fun huh?

Heres a shot of mine, not exactly working any more but she still wears her work cloths, and with only 24k has a lot of life left in her

1956 F-800 with the 332 y-block, she was bought new by palermo back in 56 and was retired in 84, I just got ahold of her this fall.

This is my truck at work hauling paint for the lines on our soccer fields. I hauled 1150 lbs of field paint to our soccer complex. The paint is on a pallet which was "carefully" forklifted onto the bed and driven 5 miles to our fields.

My truck was used by my grandfather on his dairy farm for about 23 years then I bought it and it was used for a while as a construction truck and after that only for hauling yard waste, mulch and truck parts and, last spring, field paint.

At the time of these pictures, this truck had retired.
When my wife's grandpa was done with it. He parked it here on his farm.
My goal is to turn it back into a working truck when I'm finally done. (Although she won't have to do much heavy lifting.)

Let's bump this great thread back up to the top with a picture of what us Northerners are going to be dealing with very soon:

I remember seeing this picture before, I think on the HAMB. I came upon it again tonight browsing the Minnesota State Historical Society archives. A lot of great pictures there.

This was taken in 1965 near Willmar, Minnesota.

Great picture...of that Ford truck...with trailer...marooned in a huge snow drift.

BTW, one of the greatest blizzards in this region took place on March 4, 1966 and blanketed....and I mean....really blanketed the area from Chicago...north through Minnesota, North Dakota and Manitoba all the way up to Lake Winnipeg.

I spent a lot of time in the northern Minnesota, southern Manitoba areas during the 60's and in my many years I've never seen a storm...blizzard as bad as March 4, 1966.

There's a great book...called The Relentless Blizzard of March, 1966 by a couple of North Dakotans...Douglas Ramsey and Larry Skroch that covers this storm of storm in great detail...over 600 pages. I bought the book from the ND Museum...I think it was in Bismarck.
