Mike keeps himself pretty busy in the summer.
Best deals I see are at Walmart.

Wally vs the others

Hey Joe F350-

I bought a battery at Kragen's, paid about $120 I think. Group 65 battery. Forgot what brand it was, though. Gah, that stinker was heavy, too. This old fart is not used to hefting a battery that heavy into a 4X4.

The one battery I kinda stay away from is the Optima. I bought one when they first came out and I got a new one under the warranty every six months. It was in a '77 Chevy pickup with a butchered wiring harness (plenty of twisted and taped connections!) and a 1-wire alternator. That alt was cooking them, I think.

I got a couple series 65 for $75 a piece at the auto shop on base. They have better stats than the duralast's I pulled out.

I won a new Optima in a Raffle. I'm going to replace the Sears Die Hard in my Mercury Villager. It's still good, and I'd sell it for $25 when the Optima gets here. John

That was pretty funny Mike.

I'm sure You've already gotten your battery but I'll share my input. I usually get my batteries at Costco. The signature brand "Kirkland" seem to be of very good quality and are relatively cheap.

I installed my free Optima this last weekend. So, if somebody needs a very good used battery, I am ready to sell mine for $25. It's a Sears Die Hard model 24F. So the posts are on the top. It is rated at 500 Cold Cranking Amps.

It looks and works like new! It's a little less than three years old. My experience is that these Die Hard batteries usually last 5-6 years. So, $25 for 2-3 years is got to be a good deal. I'm in Antelope just north of Sacramento and south of Roseville. Jag

I still have the battery from my Ranger, but I doubt it would start a diesel. It is a Duralast, and is about 2 years old. Had it checked at Kragen's about a month ago, and it is fine.
