Ordering New Truck & Their Fees (FDAM & Dest/Delivery, & Fuel Charge)

My 1st post and boy what a great site with plenty of caring people and lots of great help.

I ordered (Saturday, July 24th. 2010) a new 2011 F350 4x4 6.7, Lariat, CC, LWB and want to make sure the Dealer did not stick me.
My price was $500 under Invoice, but as I look at my "Vehicle Order Confirmation Sheet", it shows 3 fees I 2nd guess.
FDAF Assessment for $672
Dest & Deliv for $975
Fuel Charge $117
All of you folks who have ordered, did you have to pay them as well?
They tried to get me to pay a $299 fee for something else, but I had them wave it.

Thanks for your help and I sure hope I get mine in 3 to 4 weeks. They quoted me 6 to 8 weeks.

Is your price 500 under invoice, plus any rebates at time of delivery? Right now the rebates in the northeast are $1500, I just paid Invoice, less the 1500 for mine, and the only fee above that was the doc fee to the dealer, which was right around $200. And they topped off all fluid put on mudflaps and cleaned it up, plus the first oil change is free.

Made the dealer give me the acutal dealer print out of the order they put into ford and that sheet had all of those charges on there. Howvwer they are not on any other invoice, sticker or anyother info I have. I suspect they are in all trucks just hidden as I said I can't find them on any regularly made public documents

Sounds like the 299 was your doc fee and you got real lucky if they waived that.
Many dealers deliver with a free first tank of gas to show customer appreciation.
Delivery/destination is a manufacturer line item, can't do much about that.
I have no idea what an FDAF assessment is, make them explain that to you and post back, curious here. "Final deal adjustment fee" comes to mind, might be junk fees.

LMS, I had this argument on a forum, maybe here? back in June when I ordered the truck and tried to make it clear, and failed, that this 'fuel charge' was not from the dealer. I couldn't find this fee listed anywhere on anything from the dealer. Only place I found it was the oreder paper wrok from ford to the dealer from their little computer that has a green and black screen and looks like a damn apple IIc. Conformation was printed on the old folded and perferated paper from the reel type printers. It was where they uploaded the order to the order bank and had me initial the paperwork agreing on the options we ordered.

The above fees are standard (in varying amounts) on all Ford vehicles that are sold. Ford sets these fees and the dealer has no choice in the matter unless they are willing to pay for them on your behalf, which is very unlikely...

BTW... FDAF = Ford Dealer Advertising Fund

Yes, $500 under invoice plus I get the $1500 off in rebates and if my $750 voucher gets here in time, I am allowed to subtract it as well.
They $299 was for Dealer Prep.
I also get 1st tank of fuel on them. 1st and 2nd Oil Change for free and the adapter sleeve from the newer larger hitch to the standard one.

Thanks for all the info guys.
I have since found out the fees are all for real and part of the sale.
Dealer Doc fee is negotiable as I had them do it for free.

So this post got me thinking. Now that I've been told I'm not crazy, as many have alleged when I told them I paid a 'fuel charge', I pulled the doc out and I paid the same fee for D&D and FDAF but my fuel charge was only $72. I am assuming all of you with the $117 were the lucky LB owners with the 37 gal tank? I guees that would explain why mine was less as I ordered a SB and therefore 26 gal

My gas charge was $74.62 (in NY) Maybe specific to your region.

Also, my dealer gave me an extra $500 rebate for purchasing under one of the plans. Said it doesn't show anywhere but they are offering $500 in addition to the other $1500 for A,X, etc. plans. $2000 in rebates, but couldn't use my AQHA $500, or the $750 (never got it anyway after about 6 brochure requests) when under one of the plans.

There is a $500 Ford to dealer rebate that is out there which I believe is what you are talking about. However you CAN use your $750 coupon (If you had it) with the X plan but not with the A/Z Plan. That is what the writing on the bottom of mine stated, I get the A/Z plan so I just had to toss mine in the trash!

My salesman said the sales manager told him it was for purchases under any of the plans. I would think if they were giving me their rebate they would have said they were, but that is what I was told.

I wish someone had mentioned about not being able to use the AQHA $500 with any of the plans when it was discussed on here, that was the only reason I joined. (For anyone thinking of it also)
