sorry guys if this has been covered I must have missed it. I have a 2000 excursion and my rear sensor part number is YL1Z-15K859-AA and according to the dealer all the excursions have the same part number sensor. when I go to amazon or ebay or any other site I am told that my sensor is just for the 2000 year model and the 2001-2005 are a different part number. every where I have looked I cant get the sensor for under 90 dollars but the other sensors for the newer excursions are a fraction of that. will the newer sensors work with my wiring harness? thanks for the help

Apologies for the thread necro here, but I figure it's worth posting.

I'm having the dreaded "OFF" light on all the time on my sensors too. Only when shifted into reverse (in DRIVE the light is off)

I'm hearing NO AUDIBLE CLICKS from any of the four sensors when I put my ear to them in the test outlined above.

Where best to start with this one?

First off, have you tested for audible clicks with the truck off, in reverse (parking brake set)? When you get close to each sensor, you should hear similar clicks from each sensor. Take a close look at all the rear harness wiring to make sure there are no breaks and no loose connectors. 2) Did/does your speaker work before you noticed the issue?

Thanks for your response. Yes, I've performed that test and heard not a single click out of ANY of the sensors.

I heard the speaker beep last week (beeped twice and then nothing since).

Where is the rear harness located? Is it in the rear panel with the speaker?

EDIT: The vehicle is new - I've only had it a week.

Okay, I'll shimmy under there a little later. To be clear, is there a module box under there too or just the sensor plugs that run to a box and speaker in the cab?

There are wires and sensors inside the bumper that then run up the D pillar on the passenger side (IIRC) where the speakers are located. There isn't much of clearance to work inside the bumper without taking them off, unless you have very small hands. It is easy to take that bumper off - 2 bolts on either side mounted to the chassis.

My speaker went bad causing the OFF light to come on. I replaced the speaker with another that goes inside a computer, if that is your problem:

I'd like to hope it's the speaker, but as I'm not hearing any audible clicks out of any sensors, I'm guessing the speaker isn't the problem?

Okay, update.

I replaced all four sensors. All four now have the audible click.

No more OFF light! But it's only a half-success.

The two inside sensors function perfectly. The two outside ones pass the clicking test but don't beep when I tested them with my hands (as I did with the inside ones).

Thoughts?

which ones did you order and what year excursion do you have? I need one for a 2000 model excursion. Do you have the link that you used to order them? Thanks

I would try swapping one inside and outside and see what happens then.
