No hes right.. it is a yearly average.. take in effect that it does melt 3 months out of the year, so the other 9 months with snow.. averages 2' on the ground all year..

Thumbs up

Morning all. Just thought I would drop in a update. So far I have found that if I accept I will get the moving deal. But I am trying to get one at the end of the project too. Also the pay position has not yet been determined. My former boss/friend is the one pushing the deal for me. He arrived yesterday in MI. with his wife and kids doing a little looking around and house shopping.
Maybe HR department will let the cat out of the bag next week. Also I sent you all reps for your post. Even the smallest details are appreciated. The moving is a big deal for my wife, so I am trying to get more info to share with her.
Also I was offered a paid trip there to tour the development site and then look around. That trip will not take place until HR gets off thier duffs. Headed out to work today, have had like 2 days off in 3 plus weeks.

But I am off this weekend, so there is only one thing to say--

Rocky

If/when you move here, make sure to go to Winterfest over in Frankenmuth. The fireworks there are amazing....

Hope the deal works out in your favor.

Keep us posted.

Don't forget northern Michigan is absolutley beautiful........

Also if you come to visit.

Canada is only a few miles away and they have a lot to do. But be sure to bring your passport or enhanced drivers license to get past the border.

Nothing as of yet. Playing the HR game, have to wait until the job post and then make a move and see what happens.

Update

Here is what I found out.
The job offer is firm and the pay is the same as I get paid now. I get one month of my pay extra to pay for the move. The company will not buy my existing home if it does not sell in 6 months.

So for now the value is really not there. If the pay was higher that would change things, but for now I have to hold on to what I have and see if they make a new offer.

I should get a phone call from them next week as they are trying to up the pay; the guy that wants me for the job moved from here to Midland last week and is still bouncing around trying to get settled in. He has asked me if I would do some hiring for them while still holding my current job position. I dont have a problem with that, as they would foot the flights and the room and board while I do that. I dont know if my current boss would go for it though, kind of doubt it. I would be hiring 90 people the first month.

So another wait a see game more money or the same. Do the hiring or not. So to stoke the fire a little, I applied for a pipe line maintenance work activity coordinator job position here in Texas that is open with my current employer. So I will see what happens with that, in a week or so.

Sure would not have minded moving to MI. though and taking that other job, Heck who knows what will happen next.

So the saga continues---
I do appreciate the support.

Thanks for the update Rocky! I was just wondering about this yesterday.
If you do end up making it here to do some hiring, maybe you will be able to help some of the local FTE guys out.

That's great Rocky. I'm all set for work, just thinking of the other guys here. Michigan's economy sucks.

Thought I would post a update. I had to turn the job offer down this week. The salery was just not going to pay for all of the expenses of the move. The house alone would cost 1/3 more than the price of mine here on the coast. They may try and up the pay if so expect me to repost. Appreciate all of the comments and advice.
