Question Help Please...Front wheel bearing hub assembly Coarse or Fine

I need your help all. Today I discovered a bad front wheel bearing assembly. When it says coarse or fine studs, are they referring to the 4 studs that hold it on? If so, how do we know if it's a coarse or fine thread? I want to order an assembly ASAP but I don't know which to order? Can you please help?? Do any of the assemblies come with 4 new studs? If not I hear it's a BEAR to get the old ones out. I don't have a torch that is probably hot enough to help loosen them. Any ideas on that?

Am I going to have to remove the assembly just to see what kind of threads they are? That woulkd really suck to take it off just to look and then re-install it because, my wife is gone for the day with the other vehicle so, I can't just take it off and bring it in somewhere to get one. All my local parts stores have to order it, none in stock!! Go figure!!
Please let me know asap, I will be monotoring the computer while I do other maintenance on the truck. Thanks in advance!!!!

It's the lug nuts there talking about, not the four on the back, and if you get a timken it comes with the 4 studs, you have to put them in, use lock tight or like me, i spray a good coat of primer paint and tighten them down, my 03 has fine threads early models had coarse. Count the threads per inch looks like fine threads are about 22 per inch.

Thanks for the response. Doing a bit more research it looks like my year truck is coarse thread. I'm going to order from Ed since I know I will get the right stuff and it will be OEM Timken. I didn't know it came with the four studs. I will be sure to ask him about that. Thanks again.

I always thought the difference was course thread was for dually because the spacers bolted to the unit bearing with the course thread bolts and wheels bolted to the spacer and the fine thread was for srw because the wheels bolted to the unit bearing
But i could be wrong

From the research I gathered on here I'm supposed have coarse. I've sent a message to Ed so hopefully I hear from him soon. In this post it talks about it; https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...ssembly-2.html

from my supplier the bearing packs with fine thread are $100.00 cheaper. so i always get them and just change the studs, using the original studs.

I forgot to ask you, did it come with the 4 new studs? I need to know if I need to order those seperately. Thanks again.

Ed says to give him the vin # to make sure you get the right hub config for your truck, such as ESOF or not among other things. Don't know for sure if this applies to these posts, but thought I'd mention it.

Thanks Wayne, I did send Ed a message yesterday with the VIN and other info. Just waiting for him to get back to me. Thanks.

Your welcome. I'd hate to see someone buy something and it not be quite right. Not saying that's the case. But bin there, done that.

That's good to know. It doesn't mention it on their web listing.

Just ordered the assembly. Hopefully it will be here by the end of the week. I don't want to drive the truck around now knowing I have this problem. Thanks again, as always.....
