It must be the Binford model 1956. It even has the Tooltime scorch marks on the rear fenders to prove that it's an authentic Tim Allen truck! Say what you will about the truck, I enjoyed the show.

I'm not a big fan of severe body mods on the 53-56 trucks. I think the stock body lines are pretty good just the way they are. When you start chopping, sectioning etc. it just throws the proportions all out of whack.

As you mostly know...I am a stock (not purist) kind of builder. I do not like the looks either!!
I dio however love the HEMI and the power and creative talent it took to build this truck.
I am sure the designer tried to build a 1 of a kind......but not many of us would get the price this truck will get.......goes to show you that throwing money at a project truck with no bottom doesn't always show good sense.
I liked tool-time and Tim for owning a 56 ford truck......that's cool!!
After all.......he could have built any truck on the planet with his money.

and just like every other creator of a custom solution (whether restored Concours, or dark side modded like mine), you don't recover 100% of the money investment. (time and mental energy investment are not recoverable)

I would guess there is $250k in that.... (engine alone is probably in the $40k-50k range.. ~1.4hp/cu in.)

I'll probably never be able to afford either the Boss 429 or a 427 SOHC but I can dream!

They don't sound too bad either!
