Any opions on Interstate bateries

I load tested my batteries today, and found that one is dead. I found that Sam's Club sells Interstate batteries for our trucks at jiust under $80 each.I plan on replacing both tomarrow, if you guys have good comment on them. I would like to get Optima, but its alittle tight rite now. I would like to know any comments you guys might have good, bad, or indifferent. Thanks in advance for any input.

Make sure you get batteries that can deliver 1000 cca's not sure the Optimas can do that.

At $80 a piece, sounds like a good deal. Never tried them in my truck, but ran Interstates in my boats for years.

They're green on top. If that doesn't bother you, grab them. I'd buy Interstate before I paid for another set of NAPA batteries.

Talking Interstate Batteries

they SUCK, I ran my own Tow Truck for 20 years, i never found a good used one in the junk cars I picked up. I put 2 New ones in my 90 F350 Wrecker and they didn't last 12 months and they leaked acid all over the battery trays... I had great luck with Decka Batteries......

Like I said, never tried them in my truck, but I have wen though several sets over the years in my bass boats. 3 at a time for the trolling batteries and one cranking battery. Usually last 2-2.5 years and that's all any trolling battery is going to do if used like mine are. Never had any leaks at all.

I think they're made by Johnson controls, along with half the other brands you'll see out there. The way I judge a battery is by the warranty support and dealer network behind it. Like I said, they're green on top. If that doesn't bother you, there are plenty of Interstate dealers all across the country. Napa turned out to be much less helpful than I would have thought. (had to do with the difference in corporate vs. privately owned store)

I like my Interstates. 3 years and 80K and their doing great. I have one in my old beater truck, gets started maybe twice a year and is always ready to go...I think it's 6 years old. I like em.

I've got a pair on my truck that came with it. I've had it for 6 1/2 months now. They don't seem to crank it over like some of the videos I've seen and heard. But, I may not have the high torque starter, either. And, as Chris say's, they're green. They sure don't do anything for the engine bay.

I've had decent luck with Interstates over the years. Still have one in my camper and it's great. Never had them in a PSD truck though.
