Yokohama Geolander AT-S's

I was reviewing many of the tire thread's and I noticed a few people mention these tires. I have a patient who owe's me money and he owns his own motorsports shop and I had a severe need for tires. So the old barter method came into play. He says he can get me some Geolander AT-S's in 315/75/16 and the price is right- $204 mounted for a D rated tire. So I say go. I wanted a fairly aggressive AT tire design and the pictures of them on line looked okay, but man they look really good in person. I went down this afternoon at lunch and had the two back tires mounted. We are going to hold off a few weeks to get the fronts because he's paying for them and I don't want him to have to come out of pocket for all 4 too close together. When I saw them I was very happy with what they look like and they ride very nicely. I saw that several people over the last 2 years have bought them, I was wondering what they wear like? For me it's not a huge issue because the price was right but if they are a decent wearing tire it's always a plus.

Here are some pics for anyone considering them:

Here is a good look at the tread. Pretty good looking I think.

Hey Bratmaster, whaddup. I had those tires on a 3/4 ton Suburban 4x4. They rode great and really grabbed the road, wet or dry. I had no issues with them with the bit of off-roading that I did. The compound then was a bit soft, hence the excellent grip, so expect some wear. The thing that bothers me most about YOUR tires is the fact that they are D rated and not an E rating. These heavy trucks really do need an E rated tire.
Good luck and GO TEXANS!!!

Howzit going Joe? I haven't had any issues with D rated tires especially with the widths that I have been running. They handle the loads well. I have my 29 foot travel trailer loaded on them in those pictures. Not a lot of flex and they rode smooth in the 5 miles of 60mph highway use I did with them today.

I have a pair of those on the rear of my truck right now, hoping to buy a matching pair for the front soon. No complaints from me so far.

Got those on my truck now Jason and their not a bad tire, noisy a bit after about half tread but not anoying, been a nice tire so far. I had them on when we did our trip down to RRE last year and they rode nice, just air them up all around before you venture off this year..

Got them in December - so far all good. Wasn't too concerned with D rating - I tow a 6000 pound travel trailer and roll with about 1500 pounds in the bed, no problems in wet, dry or snow and ice. Only have about 8K miles on them right now - so no wear report.

I've had a set on my truck for a couple years now. I pull a 5th wheel as well. I really have no complaints about them.

I had a set on my '95 bronco(hunting unit) and I loved them. I would like to know how they hold up on a PSD Superduty. Do they make these in E rated?
