87 vs. 88 instrument clusterwiring swap compatibility??? yes or no??

Here is the deal... I have a 88 f350 4wd mason dump that was ordered as a cab/chassis w/ factory a/c factory gauges ...no tach though...a 460 fuel injected 5spd... I have access to a 87 or 88 f150 w/ the tach instrument cluster, which I would like to install as an option...while thinking of this a friend just gave me a 87 f250 2wd 5.8 auto p/u to take the primo doors off of as well as the lariat interior and the pwr. windows/door locks...question is for you 87 and newer ford guys is can I take the doors from the 87 as well as the wiring harness for the pwr. windows and door locks, the dash , the wiring from the 87 from the firewall back and plug/play into my 88 f350 w/ the tach cluster and the pwr. options....are/is this an option and/or has it been done???
also considering adding the tilt wheel and just removing the shift lever and blacking out the prndl...
Thanks for the input/suggestions ...

It should be a direct drop in, I did the same for mine. We even took the original speedo with the correct mileage and put it into the new cluster. It's easy to do, and we changed all the lights in it while we had it out. Good Luck

87 to 91 are direct swaps for clusters, plug and play! Almost all parts between the years are direct swaps.
