I ran stage II's on stock oil for a while. It does just fine. I would recommend a 17° pump for sure though. But even the 15° will run them.
You will however set a CEL on a hard run, especially with a 15°. If the 17° is in good shape it will be pretty hard to throw the CEL.

Now, if you do some data logging with AE or similiar program you will see that you are running out of oil pretty bad but the seat of the pants feel is still pretty good.

I would definately have some programming for them though or you will not feel anything.

Not sure I understand, is there anything besides stock oil? Or are you guys talking about stock oil pump? I have BDP Stage 1's (160cc) that I run with the Delo. Don't think the oil pump is different from stock?

Got me thinking about the programming side too? Who does it? Is it a flashing of a chip or programmable chip?

hey bud, i recently did the 160cc 80% nozzels about 2 months ago going on 3. twas a fun build i can say that! im still running on stock oil and to the date i hvae set 1 cel for oil. truck didnt actually run out of oil, i dogged it in 5th gear pretty good because the guy behind us was giving us a hard time, needless to say he learned his lesson. but i have yet to run out of oil pushing the limits of these injectors, no stumbling or weird running. HOWEVER! i only have stage 1 tunes, havent sent out my chip yet for my 2 tuning. that may or may not help the situation. there are 156k miles on my truck.

Jay, to answer your question, the powerstroke diesel uses high pressure oil to fire the injectors, the stock 15° pump runs 15 degrees of timing and is only capable of only so much oil it can push, when you use bigger injectors it wont be able to keep up with oil demand to push out bigger/extreme amounts of fuel at faster rates. the bigger the nozzel size(you have stock) the faster the fuel emptys in the barrels of the injectors, the faster fuel is pushed out, the more oil it takes to fire the injector fully. there are several upgrade options these days that wont attack your wallet. an adrenaline pump is pretty good but the word of mouth around here is that TE, terminator engineering is pretty much ***** and at a great price. ill be heading to joey some time this year. these aftermarket/modded pumps run at a higher degree of timing and there amount of oil they can supply is far greater than the stock powerstroke pump

We are not talking about the engine oil pump also known as the low pressure oil pump LPOP. Were are talking about the High pressure pump HPOP. Is is in the valley of the engine. It creates pressures around 3000 psi depending on tuning.

I set CEL's with my 160's from Jim.

You can run stage 2's on a 15, but in a hard run, you'll run outa oil.
