Well I would get those tires checked for the balance before tearing anything apart lol. That is the cheapest thing to do first.

well at some point I need to replace those joints how expensive do you think those will be? I want everything on the front end to be top for plowing this year, I'm hoping for atleast 6 residential contracts but no commercial and it snows quite often up here

i would check prices at a good parts store. You can do it on the cheap from some place like autozone but it will not last. I think I payed like $150 for everything from side to side. I didn't do the ball joints tho. The alignment I can't remeber what it cost.

I Have never seen a tire perfectly balanced that did not need a tire weight have that wheel checked for balance

you may have just lost some weights off the rims when you got stuck in the mud.....hopefully.
i wouldn't jump to conclusions on your front end being shot.you'd feel it in the wheel and turning.besides shaking doesn't really happen as they ware.
sounds like unbalanced tires or a broken belt.
do you feel it in the steering wheel or in the seat of your pants?

you can jack up the front of the truck up a little so the wheels are 1" off the ground, grab one of the wheels and move it from right to left, check for play in all the tie rod ends, drag link, idler arm, etc. when moving the wheel back and forth, have someone move the tire for you better yet, there should be no movement, no play at all at those areas, if there is, they are worn out and need to be replaced.

yeah but why are the rubber boots exploded? the one is all torn the other two blew up and the strange thing is I did the test two days ago, moving front wheels in out and left to right and there was no play, theres only about 3" of slack in the steering wheel, and I feel the shake in the seat AND in the steering wheel, I was on the on ramp today doing 45mph and turning left and I felt it start shaking alot worse than normal in the steering wheel but as soon as the truck leveled out the shaking cleared up but was still there

the rubber caps blow when the rubber ages and if to much grease is added. if you think the joints are good you can buy just the caps and replace them
