I'm with you all the way on this one. Besides why would they make a 2 inch longer wheel base on job 2 that would have to cost them. I think I will pull a tape on my truck to see if is 156 or 158.

The 158's are the SC LB. The CC SB's are 156's. It has nothing to do with Job 2

Put me down on the not real happy list. If anybody gets a petition up, add me to it. I ran mine down to 3 miles on the OOG minder and put 24.6 gal in it. '11 CC SB FX4 KR

When I ordered mine it understood the SB trucks to have a 26 gal tank and the LB to have the 37.5. Makes since, they need the room under the bed for the larger tank. Who knows, there may be some law about fuel under the passenger compartment.
158" and 172" wheel base according to the 4/1/2010 order guide are the SC and CC 8' beds.

Anyway, I went with the long bed for a few reasons, primarily the extra fuel capacity.
Wish you guys luck.

Fuel Capacity

Sorry for the confusion but the website referenced has two different types of capacities shown--1) seating capacity by cab style; and 2) fuel tank capacities by wheel base. The body styles shown (regular, super, and crew) are referencing seating capacities. The wheelbases are referencing fuel tank sizes.

The fuel capacity is listed by wheelbase (not cab style)--short box Super Cab and Crew Cab get 26 gallon tanks (142 and 156" wheelbases); long box Super Cab and Crew Cab get 37.5 gallon tanks (158 and 172" wheelbases). Regular cab diesel gets 26 gallons as well. All gas pickups get 35 gallon tanks irrespective of wheelbase.

i saw in the 2011 diesel supplement (page 14) the switch to get to the second tank.. but I haven't seen anyone talk about the dual tank option.

There really needs to be a solution here for larger tanks.. ability to reprogram the miles til empty.. really just put in the tank capacity.

I agree with you guys that the site is wrong and I am not happy about it. But it seems that this is the only place I can find that its wrong. Looking in my brochure its appears to be correct.

Now don't get me wrong, I hope we get new fuel tanks! But in all honesty I don't see it happening. I am sure there is a disclaimer somewhere about the website.

Rsyauto ALL LWB's should have the larger tank in them. You should be entitled to a new tank. I don't think us SWB CC guys have much of a chance. Hope I'm wrong.

So chris, why is ford screwing people for paying more? They could have saved money by making the 35gallon tank across the board. One tank, one mold.

Also whats the point of a 156inch and a 158inch wheelbase? Make the frames the same to save more money on fords end.

Lets also hear your excuse for why new superdutys get the new sync software but we dont get a update to download from the syncmyride.com website? The original sync software on the trucks clearly has a bluetooth phone problem and i cant get a fix for it. Disconnecting the bluetooth and reconnecting because it decides it wants to get stuck in privacy mode seems like it would be a simple software update. Ive seen it on 3 diffrent phones in my truck, even when you switch on the phone to bluetooth headset it will come on for about 1/2second than go right back to the handset.
