Fuel Filler Hose

Does anyone know if it is necessary to use this really expensive hose? I dont need three feet and havent been able to find anyone that sells less than that. The reason i need it is because the 79 f150 has a flat bed and its much higher than where the original placement for the fill cap. Any ideas or things you guys and gals have done would be great to hear!

Thanks

I went to NAPA for all of my fuel filler parts i beleive they had pre bent peices and flexible peices as well. i also recal them comeing in 14"-16" lengths i had to "fab" up a custon filler for my 76 one ton as well useing a 45 degree and a strait peice and yes! make shure all of your hose is meant for gas or else it will shrink, harden, and crack resonably quick.
