Do you have more pics of this truck!? That was a teaser photo! Wish the two of you the best of luck... I have no doubt that you will truly enjoy every minute you spend together.

Truck and camper

We loaded up the camper and have been camping for a couple of days. This truck (F-350 SRW short-box Super cab with camper package) can really carry the weight - with no airbags and the factory shocks my 4000 pound wet weight camper (2010 Lance 861 with slide out) only slightly pushed down the rear end. Will need to upgrade the factory-supplied Continental tires though as the handling with the camper on was OK but not great. And I'm still getting used to the turn signals.

The fuel economy with the truck and camper combo was much better than I thought it would be at 15.1 mpg average on mainly 2-lane and some 4-lane highways, and sometimes hilly. I never topped 65 mph and I operated most efficiently on the highways in tow haul mode. For city driving and the campground, best results with the camper on were had in the manual mode. Since the Ford manuals did not specifically mention a hauling restriction during the break-in period, I ran the rig with no camper for the 500 miles specified in the Ford Diesel supplement for towing (did not load the camper until 556 miles). I averaged 21.0 mpg under similar highway conditions empty prior to that with my 3.55 rear end with best results at 55-65 mph.

I want to thank you all for your kind words.

Wow that's a good looking rig and the mileage numbers are fantastic.

Did you go on the Blue Ridge Parkway? One of the pictures in your album looks like my backyard!!

Enjoy.

Nice truck I picked up mine two weeks ago and I am loving it I got a F-350 SC with the long box the 6.7 Desiel, just the basic XLT package with the FX4 option. Number are good so far 18.5 MPG with about 2350 on the clock no load or hauling yet I drove it back to Ft. Riley where I am stationed from Norhtern New York did not have to fill the tank back up untill I hit the other side of Dayton OH. Over all a good truck glad I broke down and bought it.
