Why does the new F450 SuperDuty pickup, 6.4 diesel, come from the factory speed limited to 81 mph? Is there a way to overcome this, as the factory says it is not changeable by the delearships?

Also, is there a way to disable the Engine Idle Shutdown, where the engine shuts off in 5 to 10 minutes, thereby shutting of any AC to occupants of vehicle? Again, factory says it can not be changed once installed, as mine was when I bought it new.

 

The speed limiter is in place because of the speed rating of the tires. If you want to keep the factory warranty intact, there is no way to remove the limiter. If you have no problem voiding the warranty,you can get a flash tuner that removes the limiter,but then you're also going to be over the speed rating of the tires if you exceed the OE limiter by very much. The OE tires are a speed rating "N" tire if I have the correct info here,and that's 87mph.
