Is it a good idea to do a cold air intake or should i just stay stock. ive seen a lot of trucks with them just dont know if i should do it and what is recomended for the 6.0

 

Absolutly not. Stay away from am intakes on a 6.0. They are bad for them. The air filter is one area where ford got it right. There just simply nothing on the market better than what you have stock.

texans is correct on that one. With regard to performance both for more air flow as well as filtration qualities, you can't beat the stock intake. There are people with more HP then myself(and I'm at 508) that also still have their stock intake. I can promise you that at that price range to get higher then I'm at, the cost of an intake is nothing relatively speaking. Even the ability to clean it and reuse the filter may or may not be a valid reason to get one depending on the situation that the truck has to "live" in.

 

From all the reading I've done here and on other forums. Stock is what you should be using. You will not gain any HP using AM air intakes, unless you have the truck tuned to produce over 500HP and the engine is starving of air. Just what I have read.
