As far as I know they are both running but I am only concerned about the new one. Moe, I can not thank you enough for all your help and support with my 6.0 and for your wise advise on the new truck.

I keep hearing the no 6 speed manual complaints. My only comment is with the way the new 6 speed automatic operates, I doubt most will miss the stick shift at all.

Old habits die hard. My first pick up had a 3 on the tree. My current one has a ZF-6. I enjoy rowing through the gears while accelerating. In enjoy down shifting and saving my brakes. I enjoy choosing which gear and rpm I drive at when towing. I enjoy limping along in first, or worst case granny, when in heavy traffic without having to ride the brakes.

And apparently I enjoy being an oddball that Ford is convinced is some sort of minority that doesn't amount to enough to worry about.

Now I realize you are not one who is worried about the lack of a stick shift option, but if you don't mind me asking, does it not seem strange that Ford cut the hand shaker if you keep hearing complaints? Apparently I'm not the only one upset.

And as long as we're nitpicking here, exactly how did a 2004 truck become 10 years old in 2010? My 02 isn't even 10 years old yet unless you want to count the skipped year for the 08 model, then skip another year for the 2011 model.

Chris

I bought the 04 6.0 used. My last new truck was a 2000 F150. I too cut my teeth on manual transmissions. My first car had a 4 speed Muncie rock crusher in it. My 67 Camaro was a stick. I have driven over 2 million miles in manual transmission big trucks. I understand the manual mentality and respect the disappointment voiced loudly by the handshaker crowd. The decision by Ford was driven by a less than 2% take rate on the manual transmissions over the last several years. They decided that this was too low of a take rate to spend the money to produce it for the 6.7. I do like the new 6 speed automatic and the manual over ride works great.

Regards

I always thought the best manual in a pickup was the old 4 speed with granny low. Had that in my 86 150 and a 82 150. Shift two times most times and you were done. When they went to a 5 speed i hated that to much shifting. 4 times before you got up to speed way to much. Reverse was way to fast. You could go 20 miles in reverse rediculous.

White Knight 2011 is starting off with a positive reputation.
YES!!!

WooHoo tomorrow is finally the day.

The truck should be at the dealership now. They had to drive it up from Portland, OR to my dealership in Poulsbo, WA. When I made the deal the truck was still in transit.

So, the truck is;
2011 F350 Crew Cab, 6.7L, LB, SRW, 4x4, Lariet, Lariet Ultimate, Chrome, FX4, and several other options in White Platinum Met. Tri-Coat.

Can you tell I"m excited.

Congrats man. Hope you enjoy the new rig. They are awesome no two way about it. Ford trucks are so far ahead off the competition its not even close. Everybody I have talked to is just overly impressed with the new truck. Sounds like a sweet rig coming your way. Post some pics when you get it. Good Luck
