AC fan cuts out

I have an '06 F350 PSD and last week the air conditioning fan just stopped. 10 seconds later it came back on and worked fine. Since then it has happened 10 or so times with variable stop times from 1 to 30 seconds or so. One time it came back on and the fan was set on high but it blew at the low setting. I tried adjusting the speed but nothing, until it corrected itself later. I have 86k miles. Any ideas? Thanks,

Jerry

Any ideas anyone? This is happening every time I run the truck. It happens 1-2 minutes into the drive. It usually corrects itself in 30 seconds or so. But once I a while it can take 5 minutes. Thanks ahead for any help.

I'd start looking for a loose connection. Also, make sure you don't have a water leak that is causing corrosion on your electrical connections.

So I looked around and came up with nothing. But I found out that when I turn the fan on high it snaps out of it and works. I drop to lower speeds and back to no fan. It always snaps out of it after 5 minutes of driving no matter what. This isn't so bad. I lose AC for 30 seconds to 2 minutes or so every time I use the truck. But I have a feeling it's gonna quit one day. This is one hot summer too.

Does it blow out of the defrost vents?

No, it blows out the front dash vents. Once in a while in the distant past it blew out the defrost for a spell and corrected itself in a minute or so. I think my 99 did the same thing once in a while too.

You have some loose or corroded electrical connections somewhere. May be tuff to find, but they are there. Start with the fan switch itself.
