Any downsides to the "fuel bowl delete"?

After talking to Joey at Terminator i am 99% ready to pull the trigger on dual pumps(since my stock hpop is very weak). And he said the duel pumps can fit with the stock fuel bowl even though its very tight and suggested i just delete it. I will probably do a full regulated return at same time.

So my question is are there any downsides to deleting the stock fuel bowl? I live in MD and we have the extreme of all the seasons. So very cold weather situations and snow are my concerns mainly. The truck is my every day daily driver and work truck etc so i want to do mods that keep it having no issues or making it more powerful but giving up reliablity of just get in and go. Do not want to have a surprise once cold weather hits. So all input is appreciated.

Wasn't there a discussion a while back about the fuel bowl delete actually helping in cold weather? The fuel flowing through the warm heads before returning to tank being a good thing in those temps?

not sure about the thread...the same amount of fuel is alway's going back to the tank if the bowl was there or not....the bowl would be like a filter down on the rail only with no heater in it and more exposed to cold rather then heat from the motor....R&R over stock..yes the fuel gets warmer faster..but cools faster in the rail filter..

I have the same set up or close to what Ron has and I'm very happy with it.

Not quite on topic, but do you really need dual HPOPs? That's a lot of money and oil for a "stock" engine. Do you know that Joey will modify your stock HPOP far cheaper? A few guys have done it and some data logging and are holding 3000psi pretty easy. I think he's also coming out with a pump inbetween a stock HPOP and duals, similar to the Adrenaline pump.

Good to hear guys. Just wanted to make sure but sounds like it wonlt be any problems.
farmboy....i know all about the oil pumps and talked to Joey extensively regarding the modded 17 and the dual and the T1 that is coming out .....and i am very much leaning towards the duals. But i may do the 17 for now and do a built tranny first. I just liek to do things once and be totally done with them. But either way i am doing a regulated return and furl bowl delete so good to know the info either way. And talk to Joey and you will understand there is always room for big oil

Well duhhhhh He sells it...

Save your money. Throw a set of injectors at it, and have more power, and more options...

What he said. A good set of hybrids will rock the house on stock oil if your pump is in decent condition and will rock it more if you get around to better oil. I believe that is what Joe was saying. If not, then that is my opinion.

Ok good, I'm not the only one thinking that. For the cost of BO, you could have your stock pump modified by Joey and a set of hybrids, and be far ahead with performance.

If you plan on running big HP numbers, like 450-500+, then BO would be needed. I haven't run BO, so I can't speak from experience. But from the talk here you won't get your money's worth out of it unless you are running a lot of ponies. Joey's modded 17*, T1 or an adrenaline would be more suited for a truck with stock injectors up to mildly tuned hybrids.

I have dealt with Joey, he's a great guy. I've pestered him alot about his scan gauge. Unless there's something I'm missing and you're going for big numbers, I'm surprised he's pushing you to dual pumps.

Try over doubling your HP numbers for the areas needing or could improve with big oil...

500+ HP is not hard with a good set of 250/200 hybirds.
