It says that it has a new trans. that is a 5 speed with granny gear. I have never herd of a 5 speed granny geared ford.
So have i got bad info in assuming that the poster of this ad is wrong or am i incorrect????????????????
The 95 f350 you own has this transmission. Total of five forward gears with the first gear considered to be a compound low or "granny gear". I think that 1988 was the first year a five speed was offered in a f150 but it was not the zf transmission. I think it was the Mazda derived unit. A f150 expert will be along shortly to straighten this all out I am sure.
There are two possibilities here, either a ZF was installed in the truck to replace a dead M5.. which was the most common manual found behind the 300 and 302 of this vintage, or it actually has a T18 4-speed with a granny 1st and no overdrive. The ZF was not factory installed in 1/2 tons but the T18 was.
You could get the ZF, special order was possible back then. My grandfather had the highest F150 2wd Ive ever seen in 92. 300 six, zf, f250 rear springs I think-not sure what the front was but it was high, etc.

I never use 1st cause it pops outta 1st gear (i honestly thought that the low gearing was part of that proble also.). Another thing, its only been driven twice because of the size, the narrow streets and idiots around here dont make DRW's theisable very often.

It has the BW18. As the test drive showed me (other than the clutch slipping) it only have 4 forward gears. The owner counted R as a gear totaling 5 gears.
