Talking XLT TO XL sealed beamHEADLIGHTS

HELLO FTE MEMBERS:

I know some of you are going to think I am crazy, But I very much like the old school style of the OEM 2008+ XL SuperDuty Sealed Beamed Headlights. I have a 2009 350 xlt with the chrome aerolamp headlights, a liitle too much bling regarding the headlights in the front on my truck. The black bezel with the sealed headlamps have a train look to them,,, "everybody's taste are different...lol"

My question was after doing some research on this forum, I could not find the wattage for high / low beam on the Ford Sealed Lamps? And does anybody know how much the complete head units left / right are???...." Parts guy ED"???? From what I can see quite a few parts are required, to get the whole lamp assembly 100% setup Left / right black housing bezels /// "Headlight , set screws, parking , side marker light setup, etc"

Any input would be helpful. I checked with quite a few auto salvage yards, and could not find complete units, that were salvageable.

Thanks,
SLIM_SNOOPY

I think you could find a local member through this forum who would swap you even up the entire set ups and cost would be zero.

uh, yeah... me...

I hate the chrome on the composite lights, but I hate the light output of the conventionals even more...

EDIT: not sure how that would work though... kind of difficult to not have headlights for a couple of days.

Guess that leaves the Harley Davidson black out headlights. lol

I was told about the low amount of light that the xl sealed beam lights put out.

TexasRebel : What is the attage output for low beam / high beam on the xl sealed beams ? Are they really as bad as I hear?

It is a mix / match thing. For some reason the XLT Aero HeadLamps never got my attention. The SuperDuty Trucks are cool right out of the box, Too much chrome in front can make a truck look too tinny---- AKA " BLING " My 2 Cents...lol"

Hello Ed:

I am interested in the XL sealbeamed Headlights for a 2009 XLT SuperDuty. I currently have the AeroLamp Headlights on my XLT, too much chrome for my taste..lol

Seems like the seald beam headlights have a lot of pieces to them. When you get a chance, how much $$ am I looking at to get all the parts needed to install on my SuperDuty. This includes the parking light / blinker , brackets , screws ready to install. Left and right side needed.

Electrical connections needed to switch from aerohead lamps to xl sealed beam " head,park,blinkers"....etc ????

Thanks for your time in advance

If you use a "standard" H6056 headlight, the light output will be poor.

Upgrade those to an H6056HO unit and you'll be happier. GE makes a unit that has a better filament alignment as well as a higher wattage.
