Want to go look at it today - 3 hour drive one way -
SO if i like it might buy it today.
what i need is - what to look for ??
it is a 1990 f350 diesel
i may be walking out the door to go see it in a minute, if anybody is knowledgeable and willing i would appreciate a phone call and some advice.

with likely 4.10 rear axle ratio being a cc dually.check the drivers side door jam sticker for the axle code.
E40D trans (4 speed auto)?
to hard to see....whats the trim level? do i see vinyl seats? so she's a custom or?
looks like you found a really sweat clean ride!
rupejosh---i forget you think your the ONLY josh, No i forgot what he said his screen name was but a Josh from this forum was very helpful while i was looking at the truck, and as stated i got it home and early today got it looked at by a diesel mechanic and he was impresseed on it's condition. and as for price i got it for a little over $5000 which for it's condition i do not think is bad, interior is very good especially for its age, couple tears in the back seat on one side and need to replace the mirror.
I'm lovin it!!!
I watned a BIG TRUCK, and this is!!!
it is a 4 speed w over drive manual,
and thanks i will check the sticker i do not know what the rear end is.
it walks down the highway at 65mph at about 2200rpm
ok so the door sticker says-- axle 45 -- what's that mean, what is my rear end??
and i have now put on new windshield wipers, changed the thermostat and flushed the radiator and put in new antifreeze; don't ask me which kind cause it was traumatic what you have to go through to learn about these trucks and anti-freeze and then buy some and then realize you bought the wrong kind according to some but it is somebody elses favorite....!@#$!@#$!flush it backwards then forwards then buy all the distilled water that krogers has......and a new radiator cap and upper and lower radiator hoses!!
i have gone over the entire truck with meguiars anti-oxidation wax stuff that works fairly well. i used meguiars plastic headlight restorer with pretty good results too. i just bought a bottle of it and rubbed it on, not the entire kit.
yes i have vinyl bench seats, don't know what that makes my trucks trim level???
found 2 wires disconnected from the after market cd/radio/mp3 player, so now it works. but boy i need new speakers.
K+N air filter.
bought a fuel filter but gonna run the rear tank some more before i change it incase it has some junk in it.
rain-x'd the windshield.
Lucas fuel injector cleaner in the tank.
Tested the batteries and the alternator, all OK.
bought cup holders to hook on the windows, cause it ain't got none.
replaced the old mirror it needed it.
bought and placed fish eye lenses on the bottom of both side mirrors, big improvement.
bought floor mats, that are way to small, boy this truck is BIG!!! they were cheap but the next ones will be larger.
got a 10,000lb curt trailer hitch on it with a 3 way ball.
bought oil and oil filter but the dealers records show it was just changed 1000 miles ago, don't know that i trust that, but i will go a little longer then change the oil.
I have a really fast car i can drive but half the time i just jump in my truck, i love driving this big old thing.
EL GRANDE ROJO is one of its names.
Big Red is the other.
or is that the same name??!@??
