66 F100 radiator shroud

I have a 66 F100, 352 engine with cruse-o-matic. Did the radiator have a shroud? It seems like it should run cooler.

Thanks

did a simple search.... here is what Bill aka(Number Dummy) posted a few years ago.

Quote:
"D3TZ-8146-C .. Fan Shroud

This shroud fits 1967/76 F100/350 352/360/390 with std cooling, xtra cooling and w/ A/C. It doesn't fit the 1973/76 FE Super Cooling radiator.

However it's a BOLT IN for 352 FE 1965/66's. It fits so well, without trimming, you'd think that it was made for these years. I have one on mine."

your welcome.

I don't think the 66 used a shroud, Im sure that someone that knows for certain will chime in and give us the skinny. My 65 didn't have one. When I rebuilt my truck I used a 66 core support and that gave me the option of using just about any radiator up 79. I bought a super cooler or desert cooler as some people call it and used a shroud I had in the shop that came off a 77 model with a 460 that I had parted out some years ago. It was a perfect fit.

D3TZ8146C .. Fan Shroud / Available from Ford

MSRP: $99.93 // FTE Ford Dealer Parts Dept sponsor PARTSGUYED.COM price: $71.95

1965/66's did not come with a fan shroud, however D3TZ8146C a BOLT IN for 352 FE 1965/66's. It fits so well, without trimming, you'd think that it was made for these years. I have one on mine.
I rebuilt my engine in 1981, added a four row radiator. Then went thru every fan shroud the dealer I was working at [Crenshaw Motors Ford] had in stock (over 100) until I found one that fit, and D3TZ8146C is it.

For those unaware: I bought a new 1965 F100 8' Styleside pickup 352/Overdrive in March 1965, sold it in November 2009.

Ford obsoleted it 6 months ago. 6/30/2010: It was available when I typed post #4 on this date.

D3TZ-8146-C (replaced: C8TZ-8146-K) .. Fan Shroud / Obsolete

Original applications: 1968/76 F100/350 360/390 / Use with Standard/Xtra Cooling and A/C Radiators / NOT used with Super Cooling Radiator.

Fan shrouds have an ID number at the upper left (drivers) side corner.

D3TZ-8146-C marked: D3TA-8146-DA or D3TA-DA

C8TZ-8146-K marked: C8TA-8146-S or C8TA-S
------------------------------------------------
There are 3 shrouds still available, one of the originals (C8TZ-8146-K), two of D3TZ-8146-C.

C8TZ-8146-K =

GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has ONE = 800-543-4959.
-----------------------------------------------------------
D3TZ-8146-C =

FORD PARTS ONLY in Bayamon Puerto Rico has ONE = 787-786-9180.

COLLECTORS AUTO SUPPLY in Oroville WA has ONE = 800-414-4462.

Have the source open the box, to verify that the shroud hasn't broken. Then ask that the shroud be wrapped in bubble wrap before it's shipped.

Most shrouds are fibreglass, fit tight into the box, have a tendency to crack if the box is dropped or tossed around.

Thanks Bill. As it turns out, Collectors Auto Supply is actually based in Peachland, BC, Canada, and they've got repros of the D3TZ available. Shipping will be really decent given they ship from Canada.

Anyway, I've got a question about when you installed this shroud on your '65. I'm wondering if you think this shroud will work as well on my '66 F100 4x4?

Cheers,
Dion

At one time, the parts locator showed a Canadian address for Collectors, but now only shows the WA address and the US 800 number.

1966 F100 4WD uses the same radiator support as 1965 F100/250 2WD, so it should fit just fine.

When they were still available, a member of this forum bought one, installed it on his 1964 F100 292, said it bolted on w/o a single mod.

I've acquired a D3TZ8146C from the pull yard and wish to install it into my 352/66. The bolts weren't available from the pull yard though, what are the proper bolts to connect it to the radiator and are there any other parts for a correct install?
