Carpet replacement 06 F250

I decided to replace the carpet in my Crew cab. Big mistake. I started by ordering the vinyl mat since I figured it would be easier to clean. It came in and was almost brown in color, I guess beige has many shades. Didnt fit worth a crap, not contoured, very lumpy nothing fit right. Sent it back and Ordered an actual carpet. This one looked much better and I could see the moldings/contours in it. I figure it would fit a lot better. Wrong. Nothing lines up, nothing fits right. It wont lay down on the floor and is bowed up everywhere. Been in the truck a week with the front seats bolted in and I was hoping the heat would settle it in. Nope. I dont know what to do. Any advice?

J

I'd call them and talk to customer service and share your problems. Where did you get it? Might just have to spend more money from a better vendor. Did you trim it to fit yet? I would guess they won't take it back if you cut on it.

I'm curious as well about where it came from? I found an OEM carpet for a Lariat, but it was over $500 after discount. How much did you spend on the carpet?

The first one came from rockauto.com and luckily they took it back. The second came from stockinteriors.com. Both were ACC brand. I called stock interiors and was informed that ACC makes 80% of the replacement carpets and that finding someone else that made customs would be difficult. I'm actually going to pressure clean my original tomorrow and see how clean I can get it.

That surprises me. I've heard nothing but good things about ACC over the years. I would cut out the middle man and contact ACC directly.

I was thinking the same thing. I know that body shops use ACC too. Curious what happened

I was in the Upholstery Business for 20 years before moving on to my current profession. When they first started making molded replacement carpets they didn't fit well. Over the years they have gotten better. One trick we used was to steam the carpet into place and use fast-tack trim adhesive to hold in in place. Remove the seats, and console if necessary, lay the carpet in the truck and start at the front and steam it until it relaxes. Applying steam will also allow it to stretch a bit.

Lmc truck has molded carpet kits can't tell you how well they fit but there's another option if you want to try it.

The vinyl flooring is the way to go but like you say its pretty much a custom install. And its a summer project, when its cold forget about it. Spent a lot of quality time with a heat gun getting mine to contour correctly. Now it looks factory.

Kind of. You can see some definition of the center floor hump but the floor pan not so much. I have installed these kits in many trucks mostly regular cabs, the crew cab is a challenge for sure. Use a heat gun, harbor freight like $12, and warm the vinyl and shape it. Lay the mat outside in direct summer sunlight for hours before install. This time of year, I would not go for it. My garage even with the wood stove cranked the mat will not work with you. The seat bolt holes and such use a hollow punch. You will have to trim for the door sill plate area and firewall area.
