Loctite® Threadlocker Red 271™ is designed for the permanent locking and sealing of threaded fasteners. The product cures when confined in the absence of air between close fitting metal surfaces. I used no silicone or loctite or sealant of any kind...

doing just fine. no leaks, no rattles.

i've been using red for years. its not as permenent s they would like you to beleive. if i did have a hard time with it then i would just break the light topside and then remove the rest from the bottom.

I added OE lights to my 04 back after new years, it was far easier than I figured it'd be..I followed the same link and it was a big help..

No Silicone for me either, and leak free, six months now
