360 or 390?

360 or 390?
75 f-250 hd
my pistons are not full skirt.
my buddy says it is definetly a 390, but i've heard that not all 360s used full skirts. he says the cut skirt clearly means it is a 390.
intake # says it is a 73 model.
gonna rebuild the engine
but i need to know for a fact what i have.
ne one know 100%?

if i were you and i found out i had a 360, i would make it a 410. using a 428 crank, 390/410/428 rods, 410 pistons and a externally balanced flywheel.
going from 360ci to 410-416ci would be quite the jump and worth the money IMO.

Your buddy is correct but as mentioned above measure the stroke to verify, 360's used a full-skirt piston, 390's used a "slipper-skirt" piston i.e. cut-skirt to clear the crank at BDC due to the longer stroke of the 390.
