I needed one for my rear tank on my 76 super camper special. I took my old rusted out one to a local metal fab shop and had them bend me one up out of diamond plate steel, it looks kick a** and it only cost me $70. I had found a reproduction one online for $250 so I made out pretty good

unless its a restoration, its not worth hunting down a factory one. They aren't that thick compared to what a machine shop can do for you for $100.

Thats not the pan he needs. He needs the long side tank pan for the 77.5-79 f-250 4x4 and some 1/2 ton 4x4's used the same pan, it is nothing like the pan you are talking about. If someone would start making them and get hooked up with LMC, Denis Carpenter, etc they would end up a rich man. I can't figure out why no one will repro them, there is a big market for them & this question is asked a lot on here. I made mine and there is a lot more than just making a few bends, it was a real PIA & a lot of work. I too made mine from stronger metal.

Doesn't look a whole lot more complicated than mine was. And most of the bends in there you don't need anyway. My point was take it to a fab shop, and they will do almost anything for ya, a hell of alot cheaper than you can buy a taiwan piece of crap from someone else for.

We wish Taiwan made one. I'm not sure what yours looks like, but people have asked where to get one like yours. I don't know for sure if you can buy one like you are talking about ? Do you or anyone have a picture of one ? I was lucky enough to find a junk one for my truck to use as a pattern, it was pretty crispy, two of us carefully loaded it up in my truck so it wouldn't break into pieces. I ended up passing it on to a friend of a friend so he could copy it too.

was just down at a friends shop working on my brother's F350. its like an 88 or 89 diesel. It occurred to me that the trucks are so similar that there is a chance the skids might fit. Anyone tried it?

I found one through bronco graveyard I believe. And it was too pricy for me. My stock one had all kinds of fancy bends from when they stamped it. i just had one bent to the same profile and then welded in the "humps" that saddle the tank and hold it in place. Fit just as good as the stock one and the tank fit in it perfectly.
