DJM axle flip brackets....how tough are they?
http://http://www.therangerstation.c.../axle_flip.htm
In this how-to it shows what I mean but I'm sure most of you know, but would these DJM brackets hold up to a V8 and auto with a shift kit? Seems so all the weight is supported by the U-bolts, but I'm not sure its an issue since manufacturers have had spring unders for ever.
My rear frame rails are rotted, and the drivers side hangar actually ripped away from the frame, so now the rear eyelet on the spring is resting against a 2x4 under the bed, and a ratchet strap is holding the bumper on....But we still do 100 mile round trips daily for prolly 3 mos now.
Anyway, to fix it I'm swapping a V8, LOL!!! And doin a C-notch, and replacing the rear rails from a donor behind the c-notch brackets. To justify it all, I'm flipping the rear (8.8 coming) and getting lowering hangars.
Thanks!!
