1952 is starting off with a positive reputation.
Nice old Ford! I'm late for the party here, I see. I'm also no longer 1952henry. I guess when you're long between postings, your name shortens in relation, as well as the number of postings??

I have an axle, F250, as Stu stated, I have to check to see if a fellow still wants it. I realize you have an F350. When you are read for carb work, give me a thought!

it's a 30 foot truck ...it look's best from 30 feet back ..it has some problems and I will be happy to share with you as I learn more about the ol' girl tomorrow, the beast has already inhaled a full tube of grease I have gone from one end to the other flushing out the old grease, steering, drive shafts ,springs , linkages and some I'm not sure were grease nipples..but they got a shot anyway ,gonna pump up the tyres then get the front on jacks to see what if anything is wrong..the owner hasn't moved it in years ,,and at 84 he has a hard time remembering dates ..anyway updates later..

Owen - Have you determined what gear ratio your spare has? I'd guess 4.86, but am curious to know.

And I'll vouch for Owen's talent with carbs. I've got a picture perfect 94 7RT that he worked his magic on sitting on the shelf waiting for me to produce a truck that will do it justice. Stu

It is 4.86:1 and the tag says F150_. Whether it goes somewhere or not now I'm going to dismantle it so it would be easier to ship.

I have a "few" 7RT (8RT) carb cores, with and without hand throttles.

The rarity of the truck is a two edged sword. Unique, but finding parts a real p.i.t.a. And probably an expensive p.i.t.a. This is why early on I defaulted to the suggestion of a donor axle. But before doing that it does make sense to try contacting Chuck Mantiglia or Don Chew to see if either has your parts. And you might also investigate to see if a joint from a different type axle could be adapted. I've wondered myself whether a joint from an old Dodge Power Wagon or IHC could be modified to work, but have never seriously looked into it. In the mean time I'd think you could pull the fractured pieces to allow the truck to be driven in two wheel drive. Stu

I wonder if the joint for the F350 would be the same as the F250?

That's where having the parts manual would be a big help. And like we discussed in regard to the other person interested in your axle, we don't know whether MH might have used the lighter duty A-150 on the front of an F-350 in combo with the heavier B-150 rear. Modern trucks have the D-60 rear in combo with a D-44 front, so maybe the same was done back then. Stu
