EGR problems- best solution?

Ill make this short n sweet since you guys are probably sick of hearing about this. EGR is plugged (sluggish and blows black smoke at full throttle) according to dealer. EGR delete sounds pretty intensive, so how expensive, easy, and effective is the EGR block off? Thanks in advance for the help

Have you tried cleaning the EGR valve? Its a easy fix that is cheap.

The cheapest place to buy a delete is probably ebay... good luck with the customer service if its not from a reputable place.

River City Diesel has EGR delete kits on sale for $200. It's nothing that can't be done in the driveway. DO try cleaning the EGR valve first. Use CARB cleaner--nothing else. At worst case you can replace the valve OR delete it .

Who can say what is best - lots of choices.

Tim answered w/ River City Diesel. They make a good product. Their sale price is pretty good.
