Bronco seats won't fit?

Bronco seats won't fit?
I need some help here. This past weekend I found a set of Eddie Bauer seats in a 94 Bronco that were in nice shape, so I bought them to put in my 81 F150 extended cab (Ranger Lariat if it matters). Today I took the seats out of my truck (not the original factory seats) and pulled back the carpet to look at the mounting holes in the floor of the truck. I was expecting after reading some threads here on this swap, to have to drill a hole on each side, but when I layed the new seat in the passenger side of my truck I can't get even two holes in the truck to line up with the seats at the same time.
I thought I read a few places that 80-96 F series and Bronco seats are interchangeable, which is why I bought these 94 Bronco seats. Did I misunderstand or am I doing something wrong setting these seats up in the truck? Thanks in advance for any help.

The holes in the truck are too far apart from front to rear by a good 3 inches I'd say. The hole spacing side to side is much too narrow for these seats also, but not quite as bad as the front to back is. I haven't tried to see how the driver's side does because when I went out there with the seat I expected to drill a couple of holes and be done. LOL

Is the seat itself removable from the rail brackets?I'm not sure, but you might also be able to put the seat itself on some actual 80-86 Supercab bucket seat rails and brackets.

Having said that, anything will fit if you want to fab up some custom mounting brackets or drill some extra holes.

I can tell your truck originally had Captains Chairs, "Buckets" because you already have the four center holes. On Trucks factory equipped with bench seats, those four center holes would be missing. You shouldn't have to drill anything in the center.
1980-1996 F-series seats are swappable. Some you only have to drill a couple of holes in the center. The bronco has a different floor contor to the pickups so a little more work is involved. The Rear seat of a bronco wont fit at all etc...
I agree with first today, the seat tracks are removable, you need a set of captain chair seat tracks for a 1980-1996 F-series for those seats to work, or do some fabrication.

Found a set of seats at the junkyard this weekend out of a truck that still had the factory buckets in it. If the driver's side foam wasn't so mangled, I might have just gotten the seats and all, but instead I just took the seat tracks. Anyway, I brought them home and only had to drill a few holes to make them bolt up under the Bronco seats bought last week.
Now I'm going to disassemble them again and repaint the seat tracks, they are pretty rusty. The neat thing about these tracks is that since they came out of an extended cab, the passenger side has the release that allows the entire seat back and bottom to flip up and out of the way for easy entry into the back seats.
Lastly, thanks to all the advice and help on this! If anyone needs a set of Bronco seat tracks I have a nice pair I'll send you for shipping cost only.
