390 year model difference

Wondering if there is any significant difference in a 390 from the early '60s and one from the '70s. Is there any reason why one would be better or worse than the other to put in my '73 F-100 assuming of course they were in the same rebuilt condition?

From '73 on they had lower compression and horsepower.

Thanks, I'm aware of that, just curious if the bolt patterns etc are the same so that the older will bolt up to the C-6.

Transmission wise, yes, same thing, but be careful of the motor mount differences in the blocks - not sure about that one.
