Has anybody installed one on their Super Duty? It looks like it just sticks on with double sided tape, how well does it hold and how does it look installed?
i put one on my 250,and it has held up for 2 years now no problems at all and i live in westren ny with the snow, salt and temp swings all the time.and yes it is just 2 sided 3m tape. i think it looks pretty good where i have it.
i like it up there too its out of reach of little kids so they can't play with it,and is still easy to get at for everyone.i am only 5 foot tall and it is easy for me to use.
I had theopposite problem. I had to shave one... not cool.
A buddy of mine did a little door damage to his Explorer and found a door off of an Ex wit keyless. We had to shave the keypad to match the truck.
and do you yourself a big favor.. LEARN the code..!!
we were on a a dash trip to pick up another 56, big window this time, and I had to get on a business call.. my wife suggested she drive so I could pay attention. So we pulled over to change drivers.. we had the dogs with us (gonna be gone for 3 days). darned if the little one didn't run to the drivers side and step on the door lock button!... phones in the car, extra keys in the car.. !.. doah!.. luckily running with the A/C on in the 85 degree and rising heat.
and we have the keyless entry.. and I tested it when we bought the truck last fall.. it worked.. but the code is in the book, in the glove box.. grr...
we flagged someone down and they called a local pop-a-lock for us.. but we were 40 miles outside town, so it took an hour to get to us.. 5 seconds to pop the door lock..
two idiots standing by the side of the road.. don't let this be you!..
I'm bummed with mine...I have the chrome door handle trim and that remote is black cuz they do not make it in chrome. Now I know it comes off....maybe I will paint it white and stick it back on. Its a life saver with the dog in the truck she always steps on the door lock.
Hahaha I never thought about that! I guess the dog likes it in there and doesnt want you getting them out. I use it alot when atv riding or fishing, so I dont have to worry about carrying my keys and wonder if I loose them or not.
