I'm gonna jump on the saddle here too! I just bought a '93 351w. since ur talkin tranny...I will need an a/t and I want to know what will bolt up to it. I don't know if the are the same 351w throughout the years as far as bellhousing bolt pattern, I will need to get a flex plate because it had a m/t behind it. so what can ya tell me? C6,C4, AOD? are 351w externally balanced?

 

Jeff, If I remember correctly 28oz. externally balanced. Want better gas mileage? Go with an AOD. I personally have a C6 behind my 351W. Thats what it came with. Very simple tranny. Had a local company to go through mine and completely rebuild it for me and it was only $325.00 minus the torque convertor. I picked that up at Advance Auto Parts for around $75.
