im pretty sure diesels are not required to have mufflers, but better check your local laws for that one. Ive been running around strait piped for quite a while now and havent had any issues. Of course I dont tromp on it going by the police station lol. Just need some common sense....

On one side of the law, No vehicle needs to have a muffler as long as it falls below the db level, On the other side, As delivered from factory!

The point is, If they want to bust you, they can, no matter what you do!

I'm dead serious, Baling/Tie wire is not allowed to hold components of your vehicle together in Maine!

And I know exactly why ... Come visit the backwoods of Maine and you'll see why.

I've seen tar paper shacks with kids bathing in horse troughs and vehicles that there isn't enough metal left to scrap, yet there is a dozen brand new top of the line high performance snowmobiles in the front yard!

Some peeps priorities just amaze me!

My stack is so effin loud, I scare small children!! Lol! My magnaflow can't quite keep up but it tries hard. My dad is testing and fabbing a high flow baffle and he's just about got it down. I'll show you all in a couple weeks.

Sounds like you need to replace that muffler with a nice free flowing chambered muffler.

-Enjoy

whats the point of putting that on if I just had to take the other off? I thought the truck "breathes" better without it?

Well Yea, Anything would flow better then the plugged up non free flowing POS thats was there, but a good free flowing muffler does not affect flow, only junk mufflers do.

The second "Sounds like you ... " was really just to rattle your cage a bit in fun ...

I'm not a fan of loud vehicles, not that I haven't had my share, I just got old!

if you want to take the edge off, get a magnaflow tube style muffler, straight through, no restrictions but drops it about 10 db-ish. all of the diesel mufflers will be black as night inside, and no you probably wont be able to see through a stock muffler. too many baffles and turns.

Oh okay I figured all mufflers would have the same effect on the truck, so some are more restrictive than others
