Transmission flush- anyone done it?

I have an 01 F150, 5.4 with about 36,000 miles and I want to flush the tranny. Anyone done it themselves?

I've read the tech article on this board and watched them do it at Jiffy-Lube. It looks pretty straightforward. Anyone know of any problems to look out for or helpful hints?

From what I can tell at Jiffy-Lube the machine they use is not really needed. It looks like the machine is used to store the new fluid and it also pumps the old fluid thru a display window, so you can see you're getting your moneys worth, before sending it to the recycling container.

Thanks
Tim

The tech article pretty much sums it up. Not too complicated.

couple of transmission fluid changes ago i paid about 5 bucks for a low and wide plastic container from walmart. ( i think most people use them for storing clothes). Roughly 6 inches high, 3 feet across and 3 feet long. changed the fluid without spilling a drop. Also handy for radiator flushes.

Thanks. I was going to get a couple of 5 gallon buckets, but I can see the logic in the low and wide container.
