Black plate? New Process?
Good Day.
What exactly is "Black Plate" in referance too?
I've read it on a few posts and in the classifieds, and again find myself in the dark! Nothing new unfortunately....
Also, what can you Ford Guru's tell me about the "New Process 4 speed synchyro helical gear transmission?
Good? Bad? Ugly??

Black plate? New Process?
Black plates usually refer to old liscence plates. Many states had black backgruond and another color letters&numbers. Alot of classics in Ca are advertised as having black plates, meaning suposedly original lisence plates. As for the N/P tranny, All the ones I've had or worked on were pretty tough and not hard to fix or rebuild.
