Hey everyone, I have a 2wd 94 ranger 3.0 with the m5r1. My tranny is shot and i am lookin to replace it since it is the cheaper route. I am havin trouble figuring out the best way to get to the top 4 bolts that hold the tranny to the engine. There is not enough room to get my hand or tools into position. I am wondering what would the best way to remove the tranny. Oh, and how do I remove the hose goin into the slave cylinder. Thank you.
remove the rear cross member lower the trans with a jack and support the engine. A 24inch extension with a universal with I think a 17mm socket. you should then have it loose.
as to the clutch line ther eis a tool available for about $5 at most auto part stores. Some have done it with a screwdriver but the tool is cheap enough and some may have a free rental on it. checkers/oriely or autozone are the ones to check.
