4r100 tranny swap question

Hey everyone,

My name is Ben I am new to ford sd! I recently traded in my chevy silverado for a 2000 f250 psd! I was wondering if anyone would know if a 4r100 from behind a v10 will bolt up and interface with a psd?

No my tranny is still good I have access to one out of a v10 truck. If it would bolt up I was going to go through it and do the upgrades so I can put in my psd at a later point

It must be a Powerstroke tranny in order to bolt up. Avoid ones made between July of 2000 and March of 2001 because they have a failure-prone overrunning clutch called a "mechanical diode" that adds $100+ to the rebuild cost in parts because you have to replace them with the regular overrunning clutch during overhaul.

If a "diode" transmission has been overhauled already, it is safe to assume that the diode has already been replaced.

Some E4OD parts work in the 4R100, but the units are not interchangable.
