In the event of a Electromagnetic Pulse Attack, it will be one of the few vehicles in perfect operating condition (without the radio).

I have yet to see a 6.9 in perfect operating condition. I did see an 7.3 idi injest a burrito once that was kinda funny.

I'll always have a special place in my heart for a 6.9.

All mechanical. No electronics.

Those were the days...

My favorite 6.9L experience was being able to drive home from the deer lease with both batteries being bad AND a bad alternator. Just needed a jump and some guts to drive it with a "zero oil pressure" reading on the gauge panel. I was happy to get rid of it though - no 4WD and it used 2 quarts of oil every 3k miles for 250k miles.

You didn't mistake the fuel fill for the oil fill, did you?

I saw what happens to one of those red shop towels when a Cat 3306 ingests one on the dyno. Half burnt red confetti all over the place! For the record, that is not a good way to smoother a motor at full song on the dyno.

I've seen 6.9 and 7.3 IDI in passing, but never had the pleasure of driving one. After driving my 6.0L I'd have to say it would be hard to get down the road

Oh no, if I were to be going by that, I wouldn't have a special place in my heart for the 6.9.

Contrary to a lot of people on here, I like the electronics are these vehicles.
