Adding cruise control to F250 2009

My company truck is a 2009 F250 Super Duty V8 but has no cruise control! Is it possible to add one either OEM or 3rd party?

All you should need is the proper steering wheel and clock spring. Then you need the dealer to reprogram the PCM to enable to the cruise to work. At lest that's how it is on the early 2000's trucks, don't see why the newer ones wouldn't be as simple too.

No clock spring is needed, just the steering wheel. But like you said, it has to be turned on with the IDS.

Is this a gas or a diesel truck? If it's gas, you'll need the cruise control servo that pulls on the throttle cable under the hood as well.

Isn't that truck equipped with the electronic throttle?

I guess I don't know. I didn't think so. But I've been wrong before.

If it has the electronic throttle, then what I said doesn't apply.

I thought all the new trucks are fly by wire regardless of the engine? SMOK, are you sure he doesn't need a clock spring? IIRC, the horn only ones don't have all the wires needed for cruise.

no cable on the throttle... drive by wire.

Just need a new wheel with the cruise buttons, switch them out, and move your airbag module over... I believe you will need a new steering wheel bolt... for some reason I'm thinking you can't reuse it.

Once the buttons are there, if it doesn't work have the dealer turn the cruise control in your PCM to 'on'

IIRC, the horn only ones don't have all the wires needed for cruise.
There is no "horn only" anymore since there are airbags, too. I'm not sure about '07 and earlier, but in 2008 and later, there is only one clockspring listed regardless of the steering wheel.

Thanks all for the replies! I've send the resquest to Ed and asked for a discount since we might be around 8 to 10 people to retrofit our trucks!

as long as you have the drive by wire set up, you need a steering wheel and a cruise control switch and reprogram the PCM.

to many diff steering wheels in catalog to post up all the part numbers, but a plain jane steering wheel is AC3Z3600BE and switchs 6L2Z9C888CAA LH, 6L2Z9C888EAA RH w/o redundant controls.

Ed, do you sell a kit for that, or just the parts separately?
