I have a 1975 ford supercab that has these stripes - D5TZ-1320000-B white, any idea where I can buy aftermarket replacements?

No one has the white stripe kits anymore. There are a few of the other color kits around but the chances of them still being any good are at best minimal.
Typically the glue used in the stripes has about a 2 years shelf life.
The options are have a graphics shop measure the stripes and custom make a set, or you can do what I'm doing on my '73 Explorer. I'm going to paint the stripes on and they are going to be under the clear coat.

My recollection about the Explorers was that, when they first came out, they were not even called Explorers. They were called "White Sale Trucks". Anyone else remember this? This would have been like '67 or '68.

ford explorer stripes

Does anyone have a NOS 1979 Ford Explorer stripe kit, or know where to get one?

The '79 Explorer stripes were available in two different colors: tangerine/gold or white/gold.
Also, in '79 the Explorer stripes used at the Michigan truck plant were different from the other plants.
To get the right stripes you need to know: Regular, super or crew cab, long or short bed, w/ or w/o auxiliary fuel, stripe colors and where your truck was built.
Let me know and I'll see if there are any still available.
BTW, welcome to FTE. Lots of good people here.

There are two stripe kits required for a complete set, the cab kit and bed kit. You didn't specify which color so I searched for both.
I was unable to locate any bed stripe kits but was able to locate the cab set in both colors.
Regular cab set
Tangerine/gold D9TZ-1020000-DE
Green Sales, Cincinnati, OH has 7 (800) 543-4959
Bob Allen Ford, Overland Park, KS has 3 (913) 381-3000
Haven Ford, Haven, KS has 1 (620) 465-2252

White/gold D9TZ-1020000-DW
NOS Parts Source, Olathe, KS has 1 (913) 220-5546

Bed set
Tangerine/gold D9TZ-9920000-KE
White/gold D9TZ-9920000-KW
I was unable to locate any of either color.

Be prepared to take out a second mortgage on your home if you buy from this rip off artist.

Agreed! Usually I add a "warning" about Bob Allen but slipped up this time.
Thanks Montana.

I had an idea after I posted the search results.
You have a short bed, I would think you could use the kit for a long bed just by trimming the length.
I searched for the long bed kits and found two tangerine/gold but no white/gold kits.

Tangerine/gold, 8' bed, no aux fuel
D9TZ-9920000-GA

Dennis Carpenter, Concord, NC has 1 (704) 786-8139
Haven Ford also has 1, they're listed above in my previous post. They also have a tangerine/gold cab kit.

Also, Haven Ford is pretty decent on their pricing of obsolete parts, as opposed to Bob Allen.

Thanks Montana.
The apology is all mine, you and Bill were the first to warn me about Bob Allen, so I only pass along your wisdom to help others.

Thanks so much for the help, i think i will call that supplier in KS. Great idea about cutting a long bed kit down.... Do you think these kits will still be good enough to use after all of these years?

If you read some of the older posts, they have said many times that these old kits can only be used as patterns to make new stripe kits. The glue goes bad after about two years.

1979 ford explorer

I recently bought a 79 f150 Explorer out of Portland oregon. It has been repainted yellow, by looking at the vin tag the original color was bright yellow, with a white can and cordovan interior. There are no stripes on the truck anymore, did all Explorer trucks come standard with stripes or was this an option, how about the bed rails, werethose standard on Explorer trucks or an option? Thanks.

The stripes were a standard part of the Explorer package however, you could order them deleted.
The box rails were also a standard part of the Explorer package on 8' beds. However (again), if you ordered Explorer package "D" that included the factory topper the bed rails were deleted.
The shortbed Explorers didn't have the box rails, they came with tie down cleats.
