DO0E-R Cylinder Heads

My name is Lance Hogan and I hang out in forums 41 (1955 F100) and 51 (FE 390). I am posting this message for a friend who is in the process of building a “pulling truck” (County Competition only) to represent all of use Ford guys. He is in search of a set of cobra jet head (DO0E-R) to put on his 460 motor. Does anyone here have a set that they would be willing to sell at a reasonable price? Any help locating a set would be much appreciated.<O</O

You could try the want adds but for what you are going to pay for a used set you would probably be able to buy a new or used set of aluminum heads that will even work better.

Thank you for the reply. I agree with buying aluminum heads for the same price, but the class my buddy is running in, requires steel heads.

check over on 460ford.com, they have a really active classified section that has a lot of used drag racing parts. You should also look into RHP (Re in"Car"nation High Performance - Products), they specialize in reworking cast iron cylinder heads, and I know a lot of guys were having good results with their work.

If he's on a budget, he may want to look into having his stock heads redone, depending on what he has. milling them flat, a porting and polish, port matching, and some bigger valves is going to be just like a new set of heads. Plus, its generally safe to assume that any set of heads that you get is going to need to be rebuilt anyways.
