Can I remove catalytic converter from 95 F250?

I've moved to a place where I don't have to do smog tests, and I was considering removing the catalytic converter from my '95 F-250 300, 4.9L Straght Six. It's an automatic. Anyhow, will the computers in my vehicle try to compensate if I remove the converter? Or would there be any other mechanical or engine performance issues caused by removing it?

Thanks!

You won't cause any problems, but removing a catalytic converter is a federal offense whether you have smog testing or not. And if it's working fine it's not hurting anything.
